Client:
Bradford County Public Library
Starke, Florida
Jack Hedge and Eric Lipschutz are at the head of the class of the very small group of architects who "get" libraries. Their ability to combine environmentally "green" with "library service" is going to make our new library a joy to work in, a joy to the users, and a joy to the county government for decades to come.

Highlights:
- 20,000 square foot LEED Registered building that will utilize "green features" such as indigenous landscape materials, natural stormwater retention, solar orientation, daylighting, local materials, and a walkable location
- To blend with its surroundings, the library is designed in the "cracker style" architecture prevalent in Starke and other areas of the South; it has sloping metal roofs and a high clerestory to introduce daylight into the center of the library
- The design will incorporate principles of daylighting and orientation to the sun to conserve energy
