Highlights:
- 15,500 square foot new construction and renovation
- Goal was to provide the best quality and most comprehensive rehabilitation services in the county
- Adaptive re-use of former health club to accommodate rehabilitation needs
- The existing large indoor pool was a great therapeutic value at significant savings, relative to new construction
- Bold color scheme was used inside and out to "de-institutionalize" the physical environment
- Additions to the facility accommodated the lobby/reception, industrial medicine (work conditioning) and circulation areas and were distinct, yet within the architectural vocabulary established in the existing building, thus creating a balanced composition
- This project solved clinical and community needs with a low dollar, high impact facility
